XRP Holders Set to Receive 1.2B NIGHT Tokens in Historic Airdrop.

  • XRP holders are eligible to receive 1.2 billion NIGHT tokens from the Midnight airdrop.
  • The snapshot to determine eligibility was taken on June 11 and required at least $100 worth of XRP.
  • The claim window for the airdrop opened on July 15 and will close in mid-September.
  • Cardano holders will receive the largest share with 50% of the 24 billion NIGHT tokens.
  • Bitcoin holders will receive 30 percent, while Ethereum, Solana, BNB, AVAX, and BAT holders will each share 5%.

XRP holders are confirmed as eligible participants in the largest airdrop by wallet reach in crypto history. The Midnight airdrop, which includes multiple ecosystem tokens, officially launched its claim phase on July 15. Cardano founder Charles Hodkinson confirmed the inclusion of XRP holders at the Consensus 2025 event.

A snapshot taken on June 11 qualified 37 million wallets. To meet eligibility, users needed at least $100 worth of XRP during the snapshot. The claim window remains open until mid-September, giving users 60 days to secure their NIGHT tokens.

The airdrop involves the Midnight network, a Cardano sidechain using dual tokenomics through NIGHT and DUST tokens. NIGHT offers governance rights, while DUST handles transaction fees. The project aims to drive cross-chain collaboration across major blockchains.

XRP Holders Eligible for 1.2 Billion NIGHT Tokens

XRP holders are set to receive 5% of the total NIGHT token distribution from the Midnight airdrop. This allocation amounts to 1.2 billion NIGHT tokens, distributed based on XRP balances at the snapshot. The more XRP held, the higher the share of NIGHT tokens.

The Midnight team ensures XRP holders gain from this inclusive cross-chain token distribution strategy. The whitepaper detailed the XRP-specific allocation, making XRP holders key beneficiaries. This effort aligns with Hoskinson’s goal to promote unity across blockchain ecosystems.

XRP holders must claim tokens before the mid-September deadline to avoid missing out. After the window closes, unclaimed tokens enter a mining phase known as the Scavenger Mine. Any tokens still unclaimed after four years will go to the Midnight treasury.

Cardano Users Receive the Largest Allocation

Cardano holders will claim 50% of the 24 billion Night token marking the largest distribution share in this initiative. This substantial allocation reflects Midnight’s close alignment with the Cardano network, which plays a central role in the sidechain’s function as the primary ecosystem.
