The Role: Africa Programme Officer
As the Africa Programme Officer, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing philanthropic strategies. While the role is remote-first, the primary focus will be on driving impactful energy transition initiatives in Nigeria and Senegal, with occasional support for other regional projects.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Grantmaking: Managing a diverse grantmaking portfolio, identifying potential partners, and supporting grantees through the full project lifecycle.
Issue Expertise: Providing deep insights into energy policy, economic trends, and movement-building within the West African region.
Stakeholder Engagement: Building coalitions with civil society, partners, and funders to influence systemic change.
Fundraising Support: Collaborating with philanthropic partners to align strategies and support proposal development.
Who Should Apply?
The Energy Transition Fund is looking for experienced professionals who possess:
An undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional experience).
At least five years of experience in climate policy, energy, economics, or finance.
Fluency in English and French (written and verbal).
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into compelling strategies.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a remote, global team.
