The Datharm Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Ilorin Research Team, is

officially recruiting competent Research Assistants and Enumerators for a two-week field

data collection exercise in Jigawa State.

This short-term role is part of the Immunisation Accelerator Project, an initiative funded by

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and implemented alongside Save the Children International (SCI).

The goal? To drastically reduce the number of Zero-Dose (ZD) children and strengthen

immunisation service delivery in Northern Nigeria.

Location & Project Scope

The fieldwork will be carried out across selected Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Jigawa

State, specifically:

● Dutse

● Malam Madori

● Gwaram

● Kazaure

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Assistant/Enumerator, you will be on the front lines of evidence generation and

monitoring. Your tasks will include:

● Attending a mandatory onboarding and training session.

● Conducting household, health facility, and stakeholder interviews.

● Administering questionnaires using electronic data collection tools.

● Ensuring high-quality data entries, confidentiality, and timely field reports.

● Collaborating closely with Field Supervisors and Project Coordinators.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this project, candidates must meet the following criteria:

● Education: At least a First Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Nursing,

Epidemiology, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.

● Experience: Proven experience as a data collector or enumerator (prior experience with

immunisation or health surveys is a huge advantage).

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using electronic mobile data collection platforms like ODK,

KoboCollect, SurveyCTO, or REDCap.

● Language & Local Knowledge: Fluency in Hausa is required, alongside a strong

familiarity with the local terrain in Jigawa State.

● Soft Skills: Great communication skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a high level of

integrity.

Duration & Logistics

The assignment is a short-term commitment lasting approximately two weeks, which

encompasses both the intensive training and the actual fieldwork.
